Chris Paul understands Devin Booker is one of the most skilled offensive players in basketball. However, Paul hails Booker more for the intangibles.

The new Phoenix Suns point guard said Booker's competitiveness is what sets him apart during a media session on Wednesday. Paul even joked the two practically come to blows when they lace up the sneakers against one another.

The “Point God” also explained how excited he is to be reunited with Monty Williams, whom he played for in his final years in New Orleans.

Phoenix is hoping Paul has a similar impact as he did with the Oklahoma City Thunder last season. The Suns have some of the top talents in the NBA in Booker and Deandre Ayton, though it hasn't translated into wins.

However, the Suns went undefeated during the NBA restart and narrowly missed out on the playoffs. With Paul joining the roster, Phoenix expects to make a big leap in the Western Conference.

If this press conference is any indication, there will be a new level of hunger to this year's Suns team.

Paul is already one of the foremost motivators and competitors in the NBA. It would seem Booker is cut from the same cloth, which bodes well for the rest of Phoenix's roster.

The Suns have Ayton locking down the paint and a pair of “3-and-D” wings in Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder, with the latter being another hyper-competitive individual. Phoenix rounded out its roster by re-signing Dario Saric and add shooters.

Still, everything begins and ends with the Suns' new backcourt duo, featuring the feisty vet and the ascending young star.
