In the landscape of NBA greatness, Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul is often sadly forgotten.

It's easy to see why, of course. He's not overly athletic, nor is he super flashy all the time with his handle or passing. His stats are relatively pedestrian year-to-year (15-20 PPG, 8-10 APG) with a few slight exceptions, and he doesn't tend to make more than a little noise when the playoffs come around.

And even on his current team, the difference that Paul makes is mostly intangible. While the Suns' only change over the past offseason was acquiring him, they went from missing last year's playoffs to a top four seed in the Western Conference. By the box score, an objective eye might never think Chris Paul was a central member of the team's core, or even a star on the team.

Then, once in a while, Chris Paul reminds us of what he's capable of:

Rookie Anthony Edwards has a good few inches and well over 10 years on Chris Paul athletically. By all means, Paul should be locked up by a player with that defensive skillset. Well, tell that to Paul, who faked the rookie out of his shoes and then ran him into Karl Anthony-Towns.

Edwards has been sensational lately after a slow start to the season. While he probably won't catch fellow rookie Lamelo Ball for the ROY award this year, he's gained ground in the race for second place. But as with any first year roller coaster, every high is followed by at least a little bit of a dip.

Welcome to the league, rook.
