The Point God strikes again! With the New Orleans Pelicans threatening to make a comeback in the fourth quarter, Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul took matters into his own hands. The star PG is traditionally known as a brilliant playmaker. However, Paul showed off his scoring chops in the 4th quarter, scoring 19 points to put away his former team.

After the game, Paul was interviewed by Shaquille O'Neal as part of Inside the NBA's coverage. There, the Suns star made an emphatic statement to his haters. Paul destroyed the narrative of him not being a good scorer, saying that: (via Kyle Odegard)

“Just because I don’t shoot often doesn’t mean I can’t shoot.”

When we think about Chris Paul, the first thing that stands out is his masterful control of the game at all times. The Suns guard is incredible at setting the table for his teammates, knowing what the right thing to do at all times. However, lost in his playmaking greatness at times is his scoring skill.

There's a reason why Paul thrived in the Houston Rockets' solo playmaker system a few years ago. Paul's midrange prowess rivals some of the greatest scorers of all-time, as he's able to make pull-ups at ease. Despite his age, he's still pretty adept at using the floater to generate inside points, making him a nightmare to guard in the pick-and-roll alongside Suns young gun DeAndre Ayton.

After falling short in the Finals last year, Chris Paul and the Suns are determined to avenge their Finals loss. Their first half decimation of the eighth-seeded Pelicans and fending off their comeback attempt is proof that they're the favorites to win it all. It's championship or bust for this team now. Do they have what it takes to get over the hump?
