Phoenix Suns rookie Deandre Ayton purchased 300 tickets for those willing to wait in line for the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury single-elimination game against the Dallas Wings on Tuesday, according to a team release.

The two teams will face off at Arizona State University’s Wells Fargo Arena at 5:30 p.m. local time, with the free tickets becoming available in a first-come, first-serve basis as soon as 3:30 p.m.

Fans will be able to claim up to four tickets per person, courtesy of the top overall pick of the league, who has been an outspoken supporter of the Mercury on social media. Ayton has praised WNBA all-time leading scorer Diana Taurasi as “the Michael Jordan of the WNBA.”

Ayton is following Devin Booker's steps, as the star shooting guard did the same last season when the Mercury embarked in a postseason run.

Even at 36 years old, Taurasi is still lighting up the stats sheet, leading the Mercury to four straight wins heading into the playoffs, including a 20-point, 14-assist display against the Los Angeles Sparks and a 27-point, 14-assist gem against the Atlanta Dream.

Ayton is hoping to emulate his WNBA idol during his rookie season after being named to the 2018 All-Summer League second team, leading the Suns with 14.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and a block per game while shooting a strong 59.5 percent from the field. He was one of only seven players in Las Vegas to average a double-double.
