The NBA 2K19 ratings are slowly being released. The latest overall rating came in the form of first overall pick Deandre Ayton. The Phoenix Suns big man received a respectable rating of 79 despite never playing a game in his NBA career yet.

The Arizona product was the consensus first overall pick and there was little speculation as to who Phoenix was taking with the first overall pick.

Ayton is one of the first rookies to have his rating announced. Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks also received a 79 rating. Marvin Bagley III came in just a notch below Ayton and Doncic with an overall rating of 78.

Expect the rest of the 2018 class to fall somewhere below Ayton. Obviously, there's still a chance that maybe Trae Young or Jaren Jackson Jr. surprise everyone with a rating in the low 80s, but don't count on it.

It's actually somewhat surprising that Doncic's rating came in even with Ayton. That has more to do with Doncic looking extremely polished and ready to play from day one, but it's a surprise nonetheless.

Ayton should be one of the higher ratings on Phoenix, but the highest rating will undoubtedly belong to Devin Booker. The fourth-year guard out of Kentucky is a bonafide scorer. He's a budding All-Star with tremendous upside. Perhaps if Booker continues to thrive and Ayton outplays his 2K rating, the Suns will surprise everyone out West.

Of course, a run at the playoffs looks incredibly unlikely for Phoenix, but crazier things have happened. At the very least the Suns are going to be an exciting young squad with tons of potential.
