Former NBA player Deron Williams admitted to being a little jealous of Suns' Chris Paul after seeing the 36-year-old continue to dominate in the NBA. At the same time, he also added that Paul's shining displays are fun to watch. Speaking to TMZSports in the build up to his fight with NFL running back Frank Gore, Williams said:

“I'm a little jealous he's still out there shining. And, you know, it's fun to watch. He's a special player, one of the best to ever do it and he's defied time.”

Williams and Paul were in the same 2005 draft class, with Williams drafted third overall, right before CP3 who was picked fourth overall. Deron Williams has since gone on to retire from the NBA, but he praised CP3's ability to withstand the test of time and to thrive in whatever team he plays for. On CP3's Playoff run with the Suns last season, Williams said:

Seems like every team he goes to he makes them instantly better because there's nobody who predicted the Suns to be in the Finals last year. He was a huge part of that.”

CP3 has now gone 17 seasons without a ring, but his displays for the Suns this season indicate no signs of slowing down. The “Point God” currently leads the league in assists (161) and assists per game (10.7).  Recently, he equalled Mugsy Bogues' total of 46 career games with 10+ assists without a turnover.Williams is right. CP3 has been pivotal to the Suns since joining them, and they are now on an 11-game win streak. While Deron Williams admitted that he misses the game, he also said a comeback is not on the cards. As he prepares to enter the boxing ring, he will continue to watch Chris Paul in jealousy and admiration.
