Devin Booker just went full Super Saiyan mode against the Los Angeles Lakers to start off their Game 5 battle in Staples Center. The Phoenix Suns superstar led the way for the visiting Suns and exploded for 22 first-quarter points, shooting 8-9 from the field including making all of his six three-point attempts.

The two-time All-Star even outscored the entire Lakers unit with the opening quarter ending 36-14 to the Suns' favor.

Did someone tell Booker to be legendary? Oh, right…

The 24-year-old was absolutely on fire in the game's opening 12 minutes. With the returning Anthony Davis seemingly reaggravating his injury once again midway through the opening quarter, the Suns kept their foot on the gas and blew the game wide open with a huge run thanks to their red-hot shooting.

Phoenix knocked down 10 three-pointers in the first 12 minutes which now ties an NBA Playoff record (via Michael Duarte of NBC LA). Booker was responsible for six of those.

After losing Games 2 and 3 against the defending champs, the Suns have managed to stay afloat and grab momentum back with two huge wins to grab a 3-2 lead over the Lakers. With their court general Chris Paul not being 100% due to a shoulder issue, it's been Booker calling the shots for this young Suns team the entire series.

Booker and his team are definitely looking to finish things off in LA on Thursday. The third-seeded Denver Nuggets just clinched their respective first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers. Are we seeing Booker go head-to-head with MVP front-runner Nikola Jokic in the second round?
