After a surprising undefeated run in the NBA Bubble, the Phoenix Suns continue to make waves this season partly due to the presence of veteran guard Chris Paul. This was somehow expected given Paul's Hall of Fame career. Fans see how his play has guided the Suns to victories. But behind the scenes, Devin Booker reveals some tidbits about Paul's great attention to detail.

In a story by Michael Wilbon of ESPN, Booker admitted CP3 can be a bit tough as a teammate because the 35-year-old playmaker wants to iron out every facet, no matter how trivial it may seem.

“You just understand every little detail of the game matters. Chris is going to demand that. The little things you think you can slide by, he'll let you know. We can't shortcut anything we do.”

Throughout the course of the season, the Suns have beaten tough contenders like the Boston Celtics, the Denver Nuggets, and the Toronto Raptors. If they keep this up, a much-longed postseason berth may be on the horizon, ending a drought since the 2009-10 season.

Suns coach Monty Williams said the reason for their success is the ultra-competitive atmosphere Paul and Booker set in training camp.

“Watching those two guys get after each other, it was like two steps away from a fight, but it was controlled. It set the tone for the rest of camp. Sometimes young teams can take it personally when you're going after each other in practice. Chris and Devin both know if we don't go after each other, we can't be the best team that we can be.”

Devin Booker and Chris Paul have been the top two scorers for the Suns, averaging 23.5 and 16.4 points per game, respectively prior to facing the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. They are also the top two assists guys with Paul dishing out 8.2 per night and Booker adding 4.3 more.
