Phoenix Suns talent Devin Booker is no longer interested in dropping high-scoring bombs on his opponents, already having shown the firepower he's capable of demonstrating when his jumper is falling and he gets in the zone.

The Suns shooting guard told SiriusXM NBA Radio his sole focus is to win.

“This is the first time in my career where the situation is a lot different,” said Booker. “We have playoff experience on our team now, and recent experience with Ricky Rubio being there the past two or three years. [Dario] Saric the same way, Aron Baynes the same way. These guys were just in the playoffs rather than the past few years our vets were a little bit older and telling us about the experience instead of being on the court hands on…

“I don't care about getting 50 anymore. I'm literally out there doing everything I can do to win, and a lot of that is not being involved of, really, me executing a play. A lot of it is leadership, the little things that matter.”

Booker has already shown some willingness to do what it takes to win. In the midst of a no-point-guard situation, the recently-extended star took on playmaking duties, averaging 6.8 assists per game last season.

If he can take the next step and develop into an average or better-than-average defender, his team will benefit from more than just his scoring capabilities, but his all-around game.

Having Rubio and Saric on his side will help him, along with the presence of Kelly Oubre Jr. and Deandre Ayton, but it will be ultimately up to how much Booker is willing to sacrifice and do the things that don't necessarily make the highlight reel, but factor into winning games.
