Despite Eric Bledsoe’s ugly departure from the Phoenix Suns, Devin Booker has revealed he didn’t bear his former teammate any ill will.

The Suns shut down Bledsoe late last month after tweeting “I Dont wanna be here.” The 27-year-old guard was eventually traded to the Milwaukee Bucks this week in exchange for Greg Monroe and a couple of draft picks.

Booker, however, admitted that he understands Bledsoe’s trade request and insisted it didn’t affect the team’s morale as his problem wasn’t with the players.

“Eric's tension wasn't with the players,” Booker told ESPN’s Zach Lowe. “That's one of my dearest friends.”

Booker and the Suns can finally move on from Bledsoe and the drama that surrounded them this season following the firing of head coach Earl Watson. Whether it will help them turn around their season remains to be seen, but the team will certainly be optimistic as they can now solely focus on improving the squad, away from any off-court distractions.

For Bledsoe, meanwhile, he gets a fresh start at Milwaukee where he has a chance to contend in the playoffs with a young squad headed by Giannis Antetokounmpo.
