Devin Booker passes Jared Dudley for 7th most 3-pointers made in Suns history

Devin Booker, Jared Dudley, Suns

At just 23 years old and six games into his fifth season with the franchise, Devin Booker now sits at seventh on the Phoenix Suns’ all-time 3-pointers list.

The Suns’ rising star passed veteran forward Jared Dudley on the said list during their game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Dudley, now a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, congratulated his former teammate on the achievement. He even predicted Booker to sit atop that list when it’s all said and done.

Booker made a perfect 3-of-3 from downtown against the Grizzlies to put him at 544 threes throughout his Suns career. Dudley made 543 in his seven seasons with Phoenix.

Up next on D-Book’s target is Channing Frye, who nailed 594 threes with the Suns. Atop that list is two-time MVP and Hall of Famer Steve Nash. The Phoenix legend amassed 1,051 threes in his 10 seasons with the franchise.

Booker still has ways to go before he can fulfill Dudley’s prediction. Then again, he’s still just 23 years old and is just in the first year of the five-year $158-million extension he signed last summer.

It doesn’t appear like Booker will want out of Phoenix in the near future either. After four abysmal losing seasons with the Suns in his first four years in the league, Booker is finally experiencing some winning and good basketball in his fifth NBA season.

Phoenix continued their impressive start to the 2019-20 with a 114-105 victory over the Grizzlies. They are now 4-2 on the young season.

Booker top-scored for Phoenix with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Eight Suns players finished with at least nine points on the night, with six finishing in double-figures.
