When a promising All-Star is rumored to be on the trading block — whether it is just widely speculated due to their disappointing play in terms of the big picture or there are blatant whispers that they are indeed being shopped — the internet is quickly on the trade machine concocting numerous scenarios that range from unlikely to downright lopsided.

To kick things off in anticipation of the NBA Draft later next month where some of the blockbuster deals tend to occur, Karl-Anthony Towns is the unwitting recipient of this honor after word broke out earlier today that the 22-year-old and the Minnesota Timberwolves are not on the same page.

The writing was somewhat on the wall for the Wolves' 2015 first overall pick after a relatively subpar playoffs debut in which he only scored 15.2 points per game and failed to be an imposing presence on both the offensive and defensive end, indicative of the team's so-so regular season despite the hype that surrounded them since summer.

With rumors in full swing, fans and front office executives are not the only ones keeping a close eye on where this relationship is headed. Even the NBA players themselves dig in every once in a while, foaming in the mouth at the possible partnership with a potential game-changer for their club.

The Phoenix Suns' Devin Booker, a teammate of Towns from their Kentucky days along with another Suns player in Tyler Ulis, is the first to make his thoughts known by tweeting a Photoshopped Towns photo.

The Suns definitely have the assets to pull off a deal, although it certainly would involve the top pick – which could very well eliminate the possibility of a Luka Doncic in Arizona.
