While the Phoenix Suns have come out on top of the West and are now on their way to the NBA Finals, some critics couldn't help but point out they had a relatively easy road considering the injuries to their opponents. Devin Booker, however, couldn't care less what their haters say.

The Suns played and beat the Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers to secure their ticket to the Finals. Nonetheless, it is worth noting that those teams all faced significant injuries, with LA losing Anthony Davis to a groin issue and the Nuggets playing without Jamal Murray since April after suffering from a torn ACL in his left knee.

As for the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard did not play at all in the Western Conference Finals due to a knee sprain. Despite the brilliant play of Paul George, the Suns sent them packing in six games.

Some people have said the Suns were lucky to face teams hit with injury bug. Not to mention that they have stayed relatively healthy themselves as they lost just four games in 2021 playoffs. For Booker, though, he emphasized they have their eyes on the prize and that they don't have to answer to anyone.

To be fair to the Suns, injuries are part of the game–just ask Chris Paul about that. Staying healthy is part of the challenges of the grueling playoffs, and the fact that they are able to prevent their players from getting any significant health issue speaks volumes on the focus and care they put into their bodies.

We also can't blame the Suns for staying healthy, right? They did lose CP3 for some time in the West Finals due to COVID-19, but that didn't stop them from winning out.

There may be a lot of “what ifs” for some teams who sustained significant injuries, but there is no denying the Suns played hard and deserve to be in the NBA Finals. It's not like they're coming in as the eighth seeds anyway.
