Devin Booker's history with making the NBA All-Star game is not pretty. The Phoenix Suns star has made two in his seven-year career and should very easily make one this year. But he has been the victim of egregious snubs in past years. Last year, when the Suns were one of the league's best teams and Booker only made it as an injury replacement, was particularly surprising.

For the 2022 All-Star game, Booker finished third among Western Conference guards in the player vote. Only the top two on the ballot — this year, it was Stephen Curry and Ja Morant — get to be starters. Booker ranked fourth in the media vote and fifth in the fan vote. Curry and Morant were the only other guards in the conference to be top five in each vote.

After the Suns' win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, Booker discussed what it meant to have the support of his fellow players. He said that it's the “biggest compliment” for him to earn respect from those that he plays against.

Booker's stance comes as no surprise. Earning recognition from his peers is understandably what he focuses on the most.

This season, Booker is averaging a team-leading 25.1 points, as well as 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists, for the team with the best record in the league. The Suns should very reasonably have him and Chris Paul as its All-Star representatives. It'll be up to the head coaches of the league to make Booker an All-Star reserve.
