The Phoenix Suns are getting the number one overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Franchise star Devin Booker quickly reacted to the good news.

In his Twitter account, Booker posted:

This is the first time in the Suns' franchise history that they'll get the first overall pick. Many expected them to do so, after recording the worst record in the NBA in the regular season, 21-61. Heading into the lottery, they had a 25 percent chance of landing number one.

Experts believe that the Suns will pick DeAndre Ayton, the 7’1″, 250-pound center, who's been touted as the next big thing in basketball. Ayton himself is aware of his latent potential. As per Yaron Weitzman of SLAM, the 19-year-old said:

“The NBA ain’t ever seen a player like me.”

“There are a lot of versatile bigs, but I’m a different versatile big,” Ayton says. “The versatile bigs that are in the NBA, all the unicorns, they start outside in. I establish myself down low before I come out. That was just old school to me—that’s how they taught me how to play.”

After hearing the news, fans believe that a Booker and Ayton combo will be similar to that of a Shaq-Kobe connection. Whether they draft Ayton or another player from the lot, it sure is good news for the Suns. Booker, who has already proven to be an elite scorer, will finally get some much-needed aid.
