A couple of hours ago, Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker was looking to disappear into the Arizonian wilderness during the All-Star break. However, it seems like his itinerary would have to be changed a bit as he's a favorite to step in for the injured Damian Lillard.

He was asked after the Suns' 112-106 triumph over the Golden State Warriors about his thoughts of being considered as one of the favorites to replace Lillard who injured his groin during the Portland Trail Blazers' loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Per Travonne Edwards of The Athletic, Booker is open to the possibility of taking over Lillard's spot at Team LeBron.

There hasn't been any official announcement from the league yet, but he's an overwhelming favorite to take over the spot Lillard vacated. After all, he's considered by many to be one of the biggest snobs in the All-Star game besides Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal.

Booker is doing everything for a very terrible Phoenix team, averaging 26.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists on 50% field goal percentage. The fact that he's playing so well for a team that only won 22 of their 55 games is an injustice.

Suns head coach Monty Williams noted how important Booker has been for the team so far, via Tyler Drake of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM:

“It’s well documented what we feel about Devin, but it’s also well documented what he did to deserve the opportunity to represent the Suns in the All-Star Game. When you put up those kinds of numbers, you play with Deandre [Ayton] for almost 30 games, you carry a team and we won 22 games before the All-Star Break. It says a lot about his commitment to the program, his craft and what he did on the floor. … What he’s done speaks for itself … when the players recognize that, it’s huge.”

Suns fans hope that their star player gets what he's due and sit on the bench with the rest of Team LeBron.
