Tyson Chandler's time with the Phoenix Suns might not be as memorable compared to his stints with other teams, but he will always be remembered by Devin Booker and Richaun Holmes as a great leader.

Chandler recently agreed to a buyout with the Suns, with reports citing that he will join the Los Angeles Lakers after clearing waivers.

The 36-year-old center spent the past three seasons with the franchise and served as the Suns' starting center before the arrival of rookie big man and 2018 top overall pick Deandre Ayton.

While the 2012 Defensive Player of the year is no longer with the team, however, Booker and Holmes shared that Chandler left a positive mark on them as a leader and a mentor.

According to Holmes, Chandler “definitely left an imprint” on him, as he has developed and grown confident with his game over the years, per Gina Mizell of The Athletic.

“(Chandler) really just commands a lot of attention, a lot of respect,” said big man Richaun Holmes, who has taken over Chandler’s backup center minutes. “That’s something he shared with me. … This is the most I’ve ever talked in my career, so he definitely left an imprint.”

Meanwhile, Booker called the 18-year NBA veteran a “special person” in his life, having supported him since his rookie year with the Suns.

“Everything that I’ve dealt with on and off the court, he’s been right there for me,” Booker said. “Really special person in my life. … The things that you see from the outside, it’s the truth.”

Chandler's stint with the Suns is one of his longest stays in an NBA team. He played for six different franchises throughout his career, including two separate spells with the Dallas Mavericks that saw him bag one NBA championship.

He averaged 7.2 points and 9.5 rebounds in three seasons and seven games (this 2018-19) for the Suns.
