It’s not always that a WNBA player stops their male counterparts in their tracks, but if it’s the legendary Diana Taurasi, it seems even NBA players are willingly kowtowing to her greatness.

It was earlier reported that Phoenix Suns rookie Deandre Ayton was left starstruck when she got to meet the Phoenix Mercury hotshot while he was in the middle of a workout. The former Arizona Wildcats star said he was left “speechless” with the spontaneous meetup and that he thinks Taurasi is the “Michael Jordan of the WNBA.”

Turns out Ayton was not the only Sun (and former Wildcat) who was left in a catatonic state by the sight of Taurasi, as Devin Booker admitted that he, too, was starstruck.

Between Booker and Ayton, it’s the former that resembles Taurasi’s play the closest. Both Booker and Taurasi are scoring machines. This ongoing WNBA season, Taurasi is averaging 20.1 points per game, an impressive feat considering that she’s already 36. She’s also the WNBA’s all-time scoring leader with 8,229 points in her WNBA career as of this writing. Booker, on the other hand, put up 24.4 points per game last season for the Suns.

Devin Booker could also be in for another shock, as the Suns and his side are finalizing what is expected to be a lucrative extension deal this summer.
