Admit it, you got excited when you heard Devin Booker was going to be rocking the mask. The Phoenix Suns guard was set to rock the famous (non-covid) face mask donned at one time or another by legends like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and even Kawhi Leonard.

But instead of putting up an iconic performance, the Suns guard had a rather forgettable night. Booker posted 15 points, five rebounds, and five assists. He also visibly struggled with his shot, making just five of his 21 attempts from the field.

When asked about his struggles while wearing the mask, Booker shrugged it off. The Suns All-Star was adamant that it was just an off night for him, and that the mask was not an issue at all, via Suns reporter Gerald Bourguet.

Devin Booker on adjusting to the mask: “It's fine, honestly. I honestly don't see it, and it doesn't affect me.” Said he talked to Rip Hamilton and got some advice on playing with the mask.

Devin Booker on how his nose affected him: “Not at all, honestly. The nose feels fine. We lost the game.”

It's clear that Booker doesn't want to pin anything on the mask, but you can't deny that it probably affect him just a little bit. In a game of the smallest margins, where just a tiny change can throw off your shot, it might be bothering him regardless of the advice Detroit Pistons icon and long-time mask wearer Rip Hamilton gives him. But the Suns star is determined not to let that get in the way of a trip to the NBA Finals.
