Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker sustained a hamstring injury during his team's 104-96 win over the Golden State Warriors Tuesday. Booker exited the game in the first half and was unable to return to the contest. On Wednesday, ESPN NBA reporter Adrian Wojnarowski provided an update on the status and timetable of Booker.

It is unfortunate for the Suns, who are in the midst of a 17-game winning streak, will be without Devin Booker for a few games. However, when tasked to choose between December games and meaningful games down the road, the Suns will choose the latter every single time. That's the exact choice they made here in regard to Booker, as noted by Wojnarowski.

It is fortunate that the injury to Booker is a minor one, especially given that the Suns star was unable to return to the team's bench during the game against the Warriors.

Booker has been excellent for the Suns this year, averaging 23.2 points per game with over four rebounds and assists per contest on efficient 45.8/40.3/85.7 percent shooting splits.

Phoenix will have to lean on veteran guard Chris Paul, as well as complementary pieces, such as Deandre Ayton and Mikal Bridges, more with Booker on the bench.

Given the winning culture instilled by head coach Monty Williams, and Williams' own acumen as a head coach, the Suns should be just fine for a few games without Booker- and for even longer if it turns into an extended absence.

For now, Suns fans can breathe a sigh of relief.
