Devin Booker hasn’t missed a game yet for the Phoenix Suns, but that streak is suddenly in jeopardy. After playing in the Suns loss to the Memphis Grizzlies with a wrap on his right hand, Booker said that he’s unsure if he’ll be able to play in Saturday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs in Mexico City.

Speaking to the media (via The Athletic’s Gina Mizell) during a shootaround session, Booker sported an even bigger wrap around his right hand then he did during Wednesday’s game. When asked whether or not he’d be able to play against the Spurs tomorrow, Booker seemed hesitant in his status.

I’m not sure yet. This is a day-by-day process…I don’t want to hurt my team if I go out there not ready.” Booker said when asked about his status. Judging from the photograph of his hand, it seems as if Booker is dealing with a worse ailment than initially thought. After the Grizzlies loss on Wednesday, Booker noted that he was dealing with a bruise on his wrist. However, with his status up in the air for tomorrow and beyond, who knows exactly how bad that bruise might be.

The Suns are one of the many teams in the NBA that have gotten off to a surprising start this year. Currently, the team is 11-13, still clinging to the eighth seed of the Western Conference playoffs despite having missed starting center and number one overall pick Deandre Ayton for all but the first game, as he continues to serve a 25-game suspension.

Should Booker miss time, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Suns drop a bit in the standings, but once he and Ayton are both back and ready to go, the Suns look to continue to improve upon their fortunes, and make a playoff push for the first time in their careers.
