Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker will not play in his team's game against the San Antonio Spurs in Mexico City on Saturday due to forearm soreness, according to Gina Mizell of The Athletic.

Mizell notes that Booker was wearing a soft cast in practice on Friday.

Booker showed the effects of the injury during the Suns' loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night, as he scored 15 points off 6-of-17 shooting in 39 minutes.

On the season overall, Booker is averaging 25 points, 6.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds over 35.9 minutes per game while shooting 50.7 percent from the floor, 40.6 percent from three-point range and 90.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The 23-year-old, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Kentucky, was originally selected by Phoenix in the first round (13th pick overall) of the 2015 NBA Draft.

He played in 76 games and made 51 starts during his rookie campaign, registering 13.8 points, 2.6 assists and 2.5 boards across 27.7 minutes a night while making 42.3 percent of his field-goal attempts, 34.3 percent of his long-distance tries and 84 percent of his foul shots.

Booker then broke out the following year, appearing in 78 contests and recording 22.1 points, 3.4 assists and 3.2 rebounds through 35 minutes per game, connecting on 42.3 percent of his shots, 36.3 percent of his triples and 83.2 percent of his free throws.

The Grand Rapids, Mi. native had difficulty staying healthy in his third and fourth seasons, participating in 54 and 64 games, respectively, in 2017-18 and 2018-19, but when he was on the floor, he was productive, tallying 24.9 points per game in the former season and 26.6 points a night in the latter.
