The Phoenix Suns' game against the Dallas Mavericks had one of the wildest finishes this season. The tightly contested match went down the wire, with Devin Booker banking the game-winner. Utah Jazz All-Star Donovan Mitchell was one of many who tuned in to the game, and while he is no stranger to cardiac finishes, even he had a surprised response.

After Booker hit a dagger three with 1.5 seconds left in the game, Luka Doncic attempted a tough outside shot to no avail. The Suns beat the Mavs, 109-108.

Booker had a slow start to the game after shooting 1-of-7 from the field. In the end, he had 24 points. Veteran guard Chris Paul powered the Suns with a near triple-double of 34 points, nine rebounds and nine dimes. Center Deandre Ayton hauled in 10 points and 17 boards.

Doncic led all Dallas players with 25 points while chipping in five rebounds and eight assists. Latvian big man Kristaps Porziņgis had a double-double of 19 points and 10 boards. New acquisition Josh Richardson scored 24 points with five rebounds and four assists.

Both teams have aspirations for a deep, playoff run. Phoenix last made the playoffs in the 2009-2010 season, where they reached the Western Conference Finals. They bowed out to the eventual champions, the Los Angeles Lakers. The addition of Paul to a young team with a talented core can help the Suns return to better days. After Monday's showdown, they sit on an 11-8 record, which is good for sixth in the West.

Dallas is fresh from a playoff appearance last season and are looking to build on that past success. However, the Mavs are currently 8-13 after losing sixth straight games–the last two against the Suns.
