Former Phoenix Suns head coach Igor Kokoskov washed his hands on the Luka Doncic snub, noting that he has no regrets that the team opted to select Deandre Ayton instead.

Kokoskov actually coached Doncic in the Slovenian national team. He didn't reveal if he had any output on the Suns' possible draft choices. But Suns owner Robert Sarver definitely pushed for Ayton — who was then a standout at the University of Arizona.

“Unfortunately, I cannot answer that question because of a professional code, but when you have already asked me, I will tell you that I sleep peacefully and peaceably,” per Dan Feldman of NBC Sports via Yahoo Sports.

The Kings have been hounded by the same question, too. After all, they opted for Marvin Bagley III as the second overall pick though Doncic was still on the boards.

Prior to the draft, analysts did not ignore Doncic's searing talent. However, some were wary that the Slovenian would fail to translate his European style of play to the NBA. Some, too, pointed out that Doncic might have reached his peak early. Therefore, once in the NBA, he will show little or no improvement at all.

But as they have seen, Doncic is only getting better each game. From being known in Europe as a Slovenian wunderkind, now he's known all over the world as Luka Magic. And more importantly, he's slowly turning the Dallas Mavericks into a title contender.
