Phoenix Suns general manager James Jones says he's planning to keep the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

The Suns have been rumored to be shopping the sixth pick, but Jones shut down those reports on Tuesday.

“I’m comfortable staying there,” Jones said, via Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic. “Not looking to trade it. I think there are more than six good players in this draft. There’s no pressure to, you got to do something. At the end of the day, if we didn’t believe Devin (Booker) or Deandre (Ayton) were foundation pieces, then we should be desperate and feel like we’ve got to make a move.

“For us, the moves we have to make have to improve our team. They can’t set us back. To make a move for the sake to make a move is ridiculous. We’ll try to make moves. We’ll try to be aggressive. We will try to maximize the growth of this team, but we’re not going to compromise it.”

The Suns won just 19 games in 2018-19. They were hoping to land the first or second overall pick in the draft but ended up getting the sixth.

The New Orleans Pelicans are widely expected to take Duke star Zion Williamson with the first pick. The Memphis Grizzlies will most likely select Murray State point guard Ja Morant, while all signs point toward the New York Knicks taking Duke forward R.J. Barrett with the third pick.

Depending on who the Pelicans and Cleveland Cavaliers take with the fourth and fifth pick, respectively, the Suns could wind up with Texas Tech's Jarrett Culver, North Carolina's Coby White or Duke swingman Cam Reddish.
