Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker has struggled with his share of injuries early in the season but came back with fury after missing 10 of the first 29 games of the season. Most recently, Booker trotted out a 35-point, eight-assist, seven-rebound effort in an overtime win against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, putting together six straight 25-point-plus outings since returning from injury.

Following the game, head coach Igor Kokoskov had nothing but a shower of praise for his star shooting guard.

“[Devin] Booker is just being Devin Booker. That's his job description. That's what he does for us,” said Kokoskov, who delivered a grand speech to the media in praise of his superstar, according to Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype. “As an organization, we made a commitment [because we knew] a long time ago that he's the future. He's the present and the future of our organization… The sky is the limit for him if he keeps working on the game as much as he's working right now, and [has] the desire to win. One of the guys who can change our team is going to be Devin Booker. Whatever he decides to do with this program, that's going to happen.”

Devin Booker signed a five-year, $158 million contract extension with the Suns this summer, locking him as the franchise player and the sole pillar of the organization for the next half-decade.

The Suns have put him to work the last few seasons, even asking him to mold his game from a natural high-scoring shooting guard to a distributing playmaker in the absence of a point guard. Booker responded — not only with a career-high in scoring at 25.2 points per game but also a career-high in assists with seven per game, good for 12th in the league.
