The Phoenix Suns have informed interim coach Jay Triano that he is out of the running for the team's head coaching vacancy, along with assistant Ty Corbin, dismissing both from their post with the organization, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Head strength and conditioning coach Jeff Fish has also resigned from his position upon this rebuild, leaving the Suns plenty of posts to address this summer, starting with a viable coaching candidate that could stick around for longer than a season.

Franchise star Devin Booker has had three head coaches in his first three seasons in the league, bringing a great deal of instability and lack of direction.

General manager Ryan McDonough vowed to give Booker some say in personnel decisions, given his impending rookie contract extension looming in the near future.

Triano was never considered to be a strong candidate to land the job, much like Joe Prunty is considered an afterthought in Milwaukee, also unlikely to keep his coaching hat next season.

Phoenix has already had talks with Toronto Raptors assistant coach Nick Nurse and New Orleans Pelicans associate head coach Chris Finch this week, according to Scott Bordow of The Arizona Republic.

Mike Budenholzer, one of the main candidates in the coaching pool, removed his name from consideration a little over a week ago — likely a top choice for the New York Knicks, who recently fired Jeff Hornacek after their season concluded.
