Phoenix Suns forward Josh Jackson has been fined $35,000 by the league office after making a gun-like menacing gesture and directing inappropriate language toward a fan, according to ESPN's Ian Begley.

Jackson did so during a 42-point loss against the L.A. Clippers on Saturday after a fan had been heckling him all game long.

The rookie noted he meant to flip the bird to this particular fan, but ended up doing something completely different, given how closely he was likely being watched by cameras. He said he is still adjusting to the way the NBA handles these encounters, giving the fans every benefit of the doubt and at times allowing abuse of players throughout the course of a game.

Jackson said he'd be ready for any incoming consequence for his actions after speaking to the league office, but this is one that will prove hefty for a player that just started receiving NBA checks.

The Suns were playing their first game on the road against the Clippers, resulting in their second 40-plus-point loss of the week and an inevitable firing of head coach Earl Watson.

Interim head coach Jay Triano; who took over as coach during Monday's win against the Sacramento Kings, is hopeful to turn the page from this incident and a cruel trio of losses to start the season.
