The Phoenix Suns have fined shooting guard Josh Jackson for a “violation of team rules.”

Jackson missed a team-organized autograph session/meet and greet on Thursday. The second-year guard was fined $20,000.

This is a bad look for Josh Jackson, who was the fourth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft out of the University of Kansas.

Sure, the Suns have the worst record in the NBA and Jackson is probably frustrated by that, but it's not an excuse to just blow off a team event.

In 62 games this season, Jackson is averaging 11.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest. The 22-year-old California native is shooting 41.6 percent from the field, 29.0 percent from beyond the arc and 67.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Jackson is making $7,059,480 this season, so the $20,000 won't really affect his bank account. It's about sending a message, though. It's not professional to miss a team event and not alert the team why you aren't coming. Hopefully Jackson learned from his mistake and won't do it again.

The Suns are 12-50 on the season, last place in the entire NBA.

Phoenix has been a walking disaster for years and this move by Jackson pretty much summarizes what has been going on with the franchise since their last playoff berth in 2010.
