Phoenix Suns wing Mikal Bridges had some fun with fans following news about the team pursuing a trade for Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Chris Paul.

Bridges took to Twitter with a slew of reactions, beginning with a cryptic tweet with a set of “eye” emojis:

The fans seemed to play along, with one respondent claiming the four sets of eyes means a four-team trade in which the Suns land Paul.

Bridges jokingly asked said fan whether he believed the former Villanova star was Michael Scofield, the protagonist in the hit television drama “Prison Break.” Good times had by all:

Brian Windhorst and Tim Bontemps of ESPN reported Tuesday evening the Suns had engaged the Thunder in trade discussions involving Paul.

Although nothing is “imminent,” per the report, the talks also appear to have been “gaining traction” as of late.

Acquiring Paul would be a win-now sort of move for the Suns, who enter the offseason with some momentum after going undefeated in the seeding games during the NBA restart.

Phoenix has a solid foundation, with Devin Booker continuing to rise as one of the top 2-guards in the NBA and Deandre Ayton quietly looking like one of the most dominant bigs in the game.

Would Bridges be included in a package for Paul? The 24-year-old has been immensely productive as a defensive-minded wing who also provides a rebounding presence while being an efficient shooter.

The Suns would likely hope to retain Bridges, though they might have to part with players like Ricky Rubio and/or Kelly Oubre Jr. in order to acquire CP#.

In any case, Bridges — a fan favorite in Phoenix — seems to be having plenty of fun with the rumors.
