Phoenix Suns coach Monty Williams wants to clarify his recent comments on Giannis Antetokounmpo, which appeared like he's complaining about the free throw discrepancy in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

Well, he's not. According to the Suns' tactician, he is merely “stating facts” after he was asked a question on how he can help Deandre Ayton who struggled and went into foul trouble during the contest.

“The free throw disparity is what it is. … They had one player with  17 free throws, we had 16. That's not complaining, that's stating facts,” Williams said, per Gerald Bourguet of Fan Sided.

Well, Monty Williams is not wrong there. For what it's worth, he did say he doesn't want to “get into complaining fouls publicly,” and his full statement focused on how they can assist Ayton and put him in the best position to effectively stop Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Giannis thrived down low against the Suns in Game 3, finishing with 41 points. He made most of points from less than five feet away from the basket, while he also made 13 of his 17 freebies–which speak volume on how he dominated the painted area.

It remains to be seen how Williams and the Suns plan to limit Antetokounmpo from attacking the basket and force him to take perimeter or outside shots. However, they surely won't want to have him getting into the line as often as he did during Sunday's game.
