The NBA season is coming to a close and that means games have become the most competitive of the season.

Many teams have postseason aspirations on the line and playoff positioning changes on almost a daily basis for many teams still pushing for their final spot.

Thursday night's matchup between the Utah Jazz who are fighting for a spot in the playoffs and the Phoenix Suns who have nothing to lose did not disappoint.

As the game got more intense, a sequence occurred between the two teams that resulted in a heated scuffle which had players, coaches and referees scrambling on the court to prevent a fight.

Suns forward Marquese Chriss who felt he was fouled on one play retaliated after the no call by pushing Jazz point guard Ricky Rubio to the floor.

After a couple days of evaluating the situation, the league has spoken and issued fines to both Jared Dudley and Chriss who were both close or involved directly in the incident.

Dudley was involved by giving a hard foul to Rubio as the ball was inbounded before Chriss was able to get back to his feet, and tweeted some indifferent statements about the entire scenario.

Thought Quese got fouled, Ref gave them the ball while he was on the ground with my other teammate trying to help him up.

The 32-year-old forward continued with no remorse.

I wanted to stop the fast break (I always do this) The push was a little much but he flopped and sold it.. Flagrant 1 or 2 and you move on.

That point of view is one way to look at it. It's just that the league didn't agree, and Dudley's pockets are lighter as a result.
