Phoenix Suns point guard Ricky Rubio believes shooting guard Devin Booker is one of the “best scorers ever.”

Rubio, who signed a three-year, $51 million contract with the Suns this summer, is ready to help Booker make an All-Star team this season and guide Phoenix to more wins.

“I want to see how good a scorer he is, and how good a player he has been,” Rubio said, via Paolo Uggetti of The Ringer. “And if there are some areas where I can help [Booker] become an All Star, I will try to do that too.”

Booker is one of the “best scorers ever,” Rubio says, and as a 28-year-old who is still looking to become more than just an assist factory in the NBA, he’s hoping to pick up some things for himself.

The Suns have been looking for a starting-caliber point guard ever since they traded Eric Bledsoe to the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2017-18 season. Rubio is one of the best passers in the game, and his presence alone on the Suns will allow Booker to focus on scoring the ball instead of running the offense and scoring.

Booker has established himself as one of the best young scorers in the league. He scored a whopping 70 points during the 2016-17 season against the Boston Celtics.

Last season for the Suns, Booker averaged 26.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.8 assists while shooting 46.7 percent from the field, 32.6 percent from beyond the arc and 86.6 percent from the free-throw line. The sky is the limit for Booker, who is only 22.

Rubio put up 12.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 6.1 assists last season with the Utah Jazz. He should be able to make the game easier for Booker and the rest of the players in Phoenix.
