Favors, who has suffered myriad injuries over the past few seasons, has yet to return to the form he once reached some three to four years ago. Last season, the 6-foot-10 big man averaged 11.8 points (on 58.6 percent shooting), 7.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.7 steals, and 1.4 blocks in 23.2 minutes per contest. While these are pretty decent numbers for the most part, they are probably not commensurate to the $16.9 million he's getting.

As for the Jazz, their front office has been praised for their outstanding offseason moves of late. After trading for Mike Conley prior to the draft, Utah has now agreed to sign former Indiana Pacers forward Bojan Bogdanovic as well as 6-foot-10 big man Ed Davis. Favors appears to have been a sacrificial lamb in order to make room for the new additions, and being the professional that he is, he has done nothing but show his sincere appreciation for the organization for all that they did for him.
