ESPN reporter Baxter Holmes dropped a bombshell report on Thursday featuring numerous allegations of racism and misogyny within Robert Sarver's Phoenix Suns organization, with Sarver at the center of a number of these incidents. Holmes interviewed over 70 people for the report and even got a quote from a Suns co-owner who admitted how bad the organizational culture is.

One Suns minority owner, Jahm Najafi, was first to release a statement on the report, noting how “unacceptable” the alleged behavior is. He also stressed the importance of accountability. Meanwhile, Sarver and president/CEO Jason Rowley took a slightly different route with their statements:

Aside from the fact that these statements are extremely difficult to read because of some horrendous spacing, they're also extremely nasty and take personal shots at Holmes for his reporting. Former Suns coach Earl Watson also gets reamed for what he told the ESPN reporter for the story. Sarver and his Suns cronies are clearly not going to go down without a fight, so this has the potential to get really ugly.

The fact that Holmes talked to so many people, including current Suns employees, would seem to suggest that his story is pretty solid. There could be some legitimate discrepancies here and there, of course, but it's clear there's plenty of truth to these allegations given the amount of sources involved.

Stay tuned.
