The Phoenix Suns team that had Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire were one of the most entertaining squads to watch ever. While the Suns were not able to take home a Larry O’Brien Trophy during those two players’ heydays in the desert, that team was way up there when it comes to watchability.

And way up there, Nash was on Friday night, when he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield.

As part of his speech, the two-time MVP made sure he did not forget to mention Stoudemire, who was the Larry Fitzgerald to his Kurt Warner/Carson Palmer during their years in Arizona.

“In Phoenix, I got to play with Amare Stoudemire. I didn’t really watch a lot of film when I played. I certainly don’t want to look back now. But whenever something comes across my timeline or I see a pick-and-roll with Amare, it makes me smile. This guy was the ultimate target for a point guard. He made the game a lot of fun.”

Nash and Stoudemire played together in Phoenix from 2005-2010, teaming up to make the Suns a perennial title contender and a big thorn in the side of the likes of the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference.
