Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul is quite excited J.J. Watt has decided to follow him to Arizona.

The “Point God” said Tuesday he and Suns' shooting guard Devin Booker spoke about their excitement after Watt signed a two-year, $31 million deal with the Cardinals on Monday:

“Me and Book talked about it yesterday — there’s a lot of good energy coming to The Valley,” Paul said, via Gina Mizell.

For his part, Watt appears to agree when it comes to the positive energy:

“The energy is palpable,” Watt said in response to Paul, via Kevin Zimmerman. “You can feel it.”

Watt and Paul have a relationship stemming from their days in Houston when Watt was still with the Texans and Paul was the starting point guard for the Rockets.

Paul had played a big role in Watt's fundraising efforts following Hurricane Harvey. The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year shared a message with CP3 after he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the summer of 2019:

“Gonna miss you @CP3,” Watt said, via the Houston Chronicle. “Not many people know, but CP was literally the first celebrity to reach out and donate to the hurricane fundraiser. He had just recently been traded to Houston, called up and said he wanted to help. Very first one. Absolute legend.”

Now, the two superstars once again find themselves in the same city as Paul is in the middle of his first season in a Suns' uniform.

Chris Paul has been an instrumental part of Phoenix's success in his first season with the Suns, leading them to a 22-11 mark. Watt will likely hope some of that good energy rubs off on the Cardinals as they look to make their mark in a crowded NFC West.
