The Phoenix Suns have kept an open line for teams wanting to inquire about point guard Eric Bledsoe, who has likely played his last game as a Sun during Saturday's disastrous 42-point loss to the L.A. Clippers.

Yet the teams in discussion to acquire his services have been “taken aback” by the ridiculous asking price for the 27-year-old all-around guard.

Via ESPN's Brian Windhorst:

“In the initial conversations that the Suns had with teams yesterday – teams like the Bucks and the Nuggets and the Knicks and the Clippers are some of the teams that they’ve talked to — their asking price was very high. Some of the teams that I’ve talked to were taken aback by what the Suns asked for.

If they’re going to keep their asking price very high — which is usually, in some of these talks, a young player and a draft pick or a young player and an established player – they may have to wait a while for the market to play out.”

Suns general manager Ryan McDonough believes his negotiations are going in a good route, but is yet to shake hands with any franchise after sending Bledsoe home and away from the team after a Monday practice.

Via Kevin Zimmerman of Arizona Sports 98.7:

“We’ve gotten some pretty good offers, especially in the last 24 hours or so. We’re comfortable with the offers we’re getting. There are a few teams in particular that are being pretty aggressive. Contrary to what you might have heard or read, there is a strong market for Eric Bledsoe.

I think we heard from all 29 teams at this point.”

So far, it is known the New York Knicks have laughed at the Suns requesting rookie Frank Ntilikina and second-year center Willy Hernangomez, who at that time had only totalled 11 minutes on the court.

The Milwaukee Bucks offered center hybrids Greg Monroe and Thon Maker, along with a first-round pick, but no, thank you.

The Denver Nuggets wanted to package point guard Emmanuel Mudiay in the trade, but his stock has never been this low after losing his starting job to second-year Kentucky guard Jamal Murray.

The L.A. Clippers have been known to be interested in Bledsoe, but no former offer has been known about.

Every day that passes is another day in which Bledsoe's value falls, and the Suns have no one to blame but themselves — as his tweet was a direct reaction of two 40-plus-point losses in a week, and the hypocrisy of a front office that sat him last year through a career season — a value that has now gone down the sink thanks to their obnoxious requests for the very individual they chose to blame for his own unhappiness.
