Phoenix Suns forward TJ Warren is out two to three weeks with an ankle injury.

The Suns had signed Warren to a four-year, $50 million contract in 2017. Many thought Phoenix was overpaying for his services and that he wouldn't reach his potential. But this season Warren started to play into his own and its worked to a charm.

Many did not like him because he was a wing player without a three point shot. However this season he had started to figure out how to hit consistently from behind the arc.

Warren this season has played 31.6 minutes, with 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 48.6 percent from the field and 42.8 percent from beyond the arc.

He is shooting 43.9 percent overall from deep, on pace to hit a career-high from three. The 25-year-old has bonus incentives worth $250,000 a piece if he takes 185 three-pointers and shoots 37.0 percent on these looks, per ESPN. Warren was 20-for-90 from three-point range last season. This was the second worse three-point percentage in the NBA.

The Suns this season are still in rebuild mode. Even though Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton are a great duo together, the team still needs many more pieces to be better moving forward. Hopefully this offseason they'll be able to draft a top lottery pick and bring on some veterans to compete moving forward.

On the season, the Suns are 11-38 sitting 15th overall in the NBA’s Western Conference. They will face off next against the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.
