Phoenix Suns forward Trevor Ariza will not be with the team while trade talks continue following a wild sequence of events with the Washington Wizards on Friday night.

Ariza was reportedly on his way to the nation's capital in a three-team deal with the Memphis Grizzlies, but then chaos broke out when the discussions were called off after what appeared to be some slight confusion.

Initial reports suggested that there was uncertainty as to whether Memphis would be dealing Dillon Brook or MarShon Brooks, and apparently, that caused all parties to reassess the entire situation.

So, now Ariza finds himself still on the Phoenix roster, even if he won't be with the team while all the details continue to get worked out.

From Shama Charania of The Athletic:

Sources: Suns will have Trevor Ariza away from team for Saturday's home game against Minnesota as franchise works on resolution. Suns and Grizzlies had handful of discussions recently involving Dillon Brooks — never MarShon. For Suns/Wizards, nothing was lost in translation.

There's never a dull moment when it comes to NBA trade season, and this was even more proof of that.

But there's no doubt that Ariza is still likely going to be dealt somewhere, but there's no way of knowing at this point if the destination will indeed be Washington.

The two teams are going to need to find another party to add to the mix, and perhaps things will be a bit more straightforward than they were with the proposed deal involving the Grizzlies.
