The Phoenix Suns' victory over the Golden State Warriors wasn't just an upset but it was their first road win against a Western Conference team this season.

Per Marc J. Spears of ESPN, they entered the game 0-19 on the road against Western teams and were beat by an average margin of 17.9 points.

The Suns now sport a 16-52 record for the last place in the West. They've split-even their last 10 games, 5-5. A few games earlier, they even went on a mini three-game streak, beating the Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, and the New York Knicks. This three-game streak is their second longest streak for the season as they strung four consecutive victories back in December.

Though the win over the defending champions doesn't really carry much heft, its good proof that the Suns have a very talented lineup and are capable of winning. Apart from Devin Booker, the Suns also boast of a talented big man with great upside, Deandre Ayton. On top of that, we are seeing the rise of Kelly Oubre Jr. whom they acquired via trade from the Washington Wizards. If all goes well, they might even have a shot at landing top prospect Zion Williamson in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Perhaps it's only a matter of time and experience before the Suns find their way in the winning column. The last time that they appeared in the playoffs was in the 2009-2010 season, back when Steve Nash was still their point guard.
