Amid the controversies involving the Phoenix Suns possibly moving out of the state, team president Jason Rowley made it clear that such a decision will be a ‘last resort.'

In a report by Laurie Roberts of azcentral, Rowley said that if the city doesn't agree to upgrade Talking Stick Resort Arena — the home of the Suns — then he will look for other options:

Suns CEO and President Jason Rowley told me the team would consider moving out of state only as a last resort and hasn’t gone looking elsewhere.

“We would look for another home here in the Valley but if that didn’t happen, if there wasn’t any option here in the Valley, what’s the other option after that?” he said.

Reports reveal that the arena requires some $150 million in funds to renovate. However, the city council is not even 50 percent committed to the deal. Several council members have already made a firm decision to vote “no” to the proposed renovation funds. As the signs look bleak for the franchise, managing partner Robert Sarver uploaded a video on Twitter, assuring Suns fans that the team will stay.

“The Phoenix Suns are not leaving Phoenix. I am 100 percent committed and have been for last for four years to find a solution to keep them in downtown Phoenix where they belong.”
