Leading up to the 2017 NBA Draft later this month, UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball has become a hot topic around the league.

It has been an evolving conversation that has seen his status with the Los Angeles Lakers continue to become more unclear as time has worn on. According to RealGM, the Phoenix Suns are hoping that Ball falls to them at the fourth overall pick.

The Phoenix Suns are hopeful Lonzo Ball could slide to them at No. 4. The front office believes Ball is a good fit in their system alongside Devin Booker.

With Washington point guard Markelle Fultz looking increasingly likely to be selected with the No.1 overall pick by the Boston Celtics, it would require both Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers, who own the third overall pick, to pass up on the former UCLA product.

Despite the Lakers expressing some doubt about Ball's potential in the NBA, it is still believed that he remains atop their draft board. Los Angeles has a workout scheduled with him on Wednesday where he is expected to meet with the coaching staff and front office personnel. Meanwhile, the 76ers are hoping to land an individual workout with the 19-year-old ahead of the draft.

The odds may be against the Suns having a chance to take Ball, but if he were to fall to them it could create quite a dynamic backcourt with him and Devin Booker, who is quickly emerging as a rising star in the league. He has continued to show progressive development as a scorer in the league seeing a huge uptick in his production in his second campaign that included a 70-point performance against the Celtics.

It would also make Eric Bledsoe the odd man out of the mix and an expendable piece in the trade market in order to make way for Ball. It also doesn't help his case that he has dealt with significant injuries over the last couple of seasons.

All in all, the only thing that appears certain at this point regarding Ball's draft status is that he won't be falling any lower than the Suns at the fourth overall spot.
