The Phoenix Suns add another body to their training camp roster. According to a piece made by Chad Leistikow of The Des Moines Register, the Suns have come to terms with Peter Jok on a partially guaranteed deal, to give head coach Earl Watson more options ahead of next season.

The Iowa product sent a message to Leistikow, where he shared his feelings about the development in his career. He then added that it’s a big opportunity for him, even if he ends up in the G-League.

“I feel like it's a great opportunity for myself because it puts me in a position to earn a spot on the team,” Jok told the Register via text message Tuesday. “And if I don't, then I'll be playing for their G League team to work on my game, which I see as a positive.”

Jok went undrafted in last June’s draft, but became part of the New Orleans Pelicans' Summer League squad, where he appeared in three games, averaging 9.0 points per game while shooting 42.9 percent from beyond the arc.

One thing that could play to Jok’s advantage is the lack of depth the Suns have at the two spot. They may have Devin Booker as their undisputed starter, but they do not have any legitimate shooting guard past him. It may seem like a long shot for now that Jok makes it to their final lineup, but stranger things have been seen in the NBA in the past, and if he plays solid basketball during training camp, he might just surprise a lot of people by securing a roster spot.
