Phoenix Suns young stud Deandre Ayton faced off with a bonafide legend in Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in a friendly game called “Generation Gap” on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The late night talk show host made the two former no. 1 overall picks identify images or questions pertaining to their opponent's era as a test of knowledge of that specific time.

The mechanics of the game were simple. Each correct answer accounted for 10 points. Both of them had a chance to steal the points if their opponent failed to answer correctly.

The Hall of Famer raced out to a 20-0 lead, as he correctly identified pictures of Siegfried & Roy, and Bela Lugosi — the man who played Dracula in the 1930s to 1950s.

Meanwhile, the Arizona standout and Suns center finally got on the board when he identified “Edward” from the Twilight saga. Not quite the real name of the actor, who was Robert Pattinson, but Kimmel gave him the points anyway.

After that, Abdul-Jabbar was asked who sang the song “WAP.” The six-time NBA champion surprisingly answered Cardi B correctly, extending his lead.

After KAJ failed to identify Billie Eilish, Ayton correctly identified the 18-year old Grammy award winner. The game ended with a final score of 40-20, with the Hall of Famer naming Billie Holiday after the 22-year old Suns big man did not recognize the late Jazz singer.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Deandre Ayton revealed they had never met prior to this virtual encounter. Nonetheless, it seems like the two enjoyed going up against each other in this friendly match.

Suns fans would like for Ayton to meet Abdul-Jabbar in person and perhaps maybe even get a workout together. If Ayton comes to close to having a career as good as the Los Angeles Lakers icon, Phoenix could be great for a long time.
