The Phoenix Suns, like all other NBA teams, trained hard in the offseason. Really, they did. It’s just hard to believe that the Suns spent practicing in the gym over the summer with the way they opened the season, as they were blown to smithereens by the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday with a 124-76 loss at the hands of Damian Lillard and company.

The Suns were God-awful on both ends of the floor, shooting just 31.5 percent from the field while allowing Portland to knock down nearly 48 percent of their shots. Even Pat Connaughton served like a mirage of Klay Thompson, as he went 4-for-7 from deep against the totally useless Suns defense. All told, this is a forgettable game for Suns fans, who we advise to undergo therapy as soon as possible.

But wait, there’s something notable the Suns did in that game. At one point in the contest, all five Suns players on the floor began to run at the same time. When Eric Bledsoe intercepted an errant pass from Connaughton, he and four of his teammates turned and sprinted up the court in synchronized fashion.

We don’t know whether the Suns purposely choreographed this just to mess with our minds, but this is pretty amazing nonetheless. It’s almost like the Suns heard a gunshot to signal a 100-meter dash. Well, maybe. After all, they looked like they were playing a different sport against Portland.
