Wins are hard to come by for the Phoenix Suns this season, but when they do win, it’s definitely worth savoring. Even more so if victories came in the same manner it did Tuesday night, when Suns center Tyson Chandler caught a perfect inbound alley-oop pass from teammate Dragan Bender at the buzzer to give Phoenix a 99-97 win at home over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Prior to that play, the Grizzlies tied the game at 97 with a Jarell Martin dunk on the other side of the floor. The Suns would burn a timeout after Martin’s jam, allowing Phoenix head coach Jay Triano to draw a Hail Mary play that he must have stolen from Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians’ playbook.

It’s also a bad defensive play for Grizzlies big man Brandan Wright, who gave Chandler space to catch a lob pass by going in front of the Suns big man.

Chandler scored just seven points in the game, none more important than the last pair he scored obviously. His bucket at the buzzer gave the Suns their fourth win in six games and something to feel good about heading into their road game against the Sacramento Kings this coming Friday.

The game also saw the return of Devin Booker from a nine-game absence after dealing with a groin injury. Booker led the Suns with 32 points on 9-of-32 shooting from the field, but it’s Chandler’s basket at the end of the game, which is going to be remembered the most.
