It's never wise to poke the bear. Kansas City Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu learned that lesson the hard way on Sunday, after antagonizing Tampa Bay Buccaneers superstar Tom Brady in the first half of Super Bowl LV at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
Mathieu engaged Brady in a word war since the start of the game and continued right before the break. The 28-year-old was penalized for pass interference in the closing minutes of the half, giving the Buccaneers a chance to score the ball near the end zone.
Sure enough, Brady made the Chiefs pay, connecting on a beautiful TD pass to wide receiver Antonio Brown to give the Buccaneers a commanding 21-6 lead at halftime.
For some reason, Mathieu decided it was the perfect time to stick a finger in Brady’s face and talk some trash. Both players had to be separated.
As expected, that scuffle lit a fire under Brady as he continued to annihilate the Chiefs in the second half.
Mathieu's antics of provoking the winningest NFL quarterback in NFL history quickly became a “meme-able” moment on Twitter.

This hilarious gem likened Brady to NBA GOAT Michael Jordan and even Thanos.

The Weeknd's halftime performance was hysterically included as well in mocking Mathieu.

Plus of course, this hilarious video of what the Chiefs' locker room will look like once Mathieu enters after their loss.

Tom Brady certainly did not need some extra motivation to beat the Chiefs. But Tyrann Mathieu foolishly gave it to him and it bit up their behind big time.
