It's a couple of days before Super Bowl 55 and the status of some key players for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs is still unclear. That includes Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown and Chiefs wideout Sammy Watkins, who are both listed as questionable for the game.

The Chiefs also officially ruled out linebacker Willie Gay and offensive tackle Eric Fisher. The announcement regarding Fisher comes as no surprise after he suffered an Achilles injury in Kansas City’s win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game.

Watkins, meanwhile, has been dealing with a calf injury. He hasn’t played in the playoffs for the Chiefs, but he's optimistic about playing in the Super Bowl after going through a full practice, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Watkins caught 37 passes for 421 yards and two touchdowns in the regular season. He only appeared in 10 games and last appeared in Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons.

For the Buccaneers, Brown and tight end Cameron Brate are both listed as questionable, with safeties Jordan Whitehead, Antoine Winfield, and linebacker Lavonte David all cleared to play.

Brown did not play in the Buccaneers’ win over the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game due to a knee injury, but returned to full practice on Thursday. The veteran wideout was finding a groove before he got hurt, recording five touchdowns in four games prior to suffering the injury in the Divisional Round against the New Orleans Saints.

Brate, meanwhile, had limited participation in the same practice as he deals with a back injury, though one would expect he'll do everything he can to play in the Super Bowl. The tight end saw action against the Packers in the NFC title game, finishing with three catches for 19 receiving yards and one touchdown.
