With Leonard Fournette still dealing with the injury the Jacksonville Jaguars brought in Jamaal Charles to help the backfield, but even so, T.J. Yeldon is still expected to get a majority of the work.

“T.J. will be a guy that will carry the load for us,” Doug Marrone said Wednesday, via the Jaguars' official website. “We brought Jamaal in and David Williams off the Denver practice squad.

“Jamaal, he looked good. He looked in shape; he looked like he was ready to go … We need some help, so we brought those guys in here. We'll just put them to work.”

Charles wasn't signed this offseason even though he had two publicized workouts with the New Orleans Saints and the Denver Broncos. Charles said he was being selective looking for his next team because he wants to win a Super Bowl and when the Jaguars came calling, it was an easy decision.

“I feel like they have a contender team and I was happy when they called,” Charles said. “I want to win a Super Bowl and that's why I always kept my options open because I did want to win a Super Bowl. They have a good chance to do that, so I came here so I could contribute.”

Jamaal Charles has dealt with new injuries throughout his career and just how much of a workload he will see is still to be seen, but don't expect him to get 20 carries a game.

He will probably be more of a situational back and maybe at this point, he can go in when T.J. Yeldon needs a break. It's unclear how long Fournette is going to be out, but Charles is a good veteran leader who should be a good addition on the field and a great addition to the locker room.
